Get ready to Rock! LAMC Productions is pleased to announce that Rock Guitar Superstar Yngwie J. Malmsteen and his band Rising Force featuring two former members of Richie Blackmore's Rainbow will appear live at the Singapore Expo on December 18, 2002.
This will be Yngwie's (pronounced ING-vey) first ever performance in Singapore and coincides with his highly acclaimed new album Attack just released on Pony Canyon records.Singapore will be Yngwie's only appearance in Southeast Asia on this tour that includes Japan, Hong Kong & China. Malmsteen's band Rising Force features an all star lineup of ex Rainbow members Dougie White on vocals and Mick Cervino on BASS along with ex Stormwind drummer Patrik Johannson. Dougie White in particular one of the most exciting vocalist on the rock scene today having drawn comparisons to Robert Plant and Ian Gillan.
Malmsteen is simply one of the fastest and most technically advanced guitarist the World has ever known. He is a master shredder who first picked up a guitar in 1970 at age seven after being inspired by a TV special on the life and death of Jimi Hendrix. Another big influence on the young Malmsteen would be Deep Purple and Ritchie Blackmore who along with violinist Niccolo Paganini sparked his life long interest in blending rock and classical music into what has been coined neo-classical rock. Malmsteen has also received rave reviews for his occasional performances with some of the World's leading Orchestra's including the New Japan Philharmonic whom he performed with last year in Tokyo. Expect Malmsteen to include some form of tribute to Deep Purple & Rainbow by performing a couple of his own favorites in Singapore.
Yngwie Malmsteen has released over 20 albums and is always selected year after year as one of the top guitarists ever by Guitar magazine reader polls around the World. His latest release ATTACK has critics raving that he and his band Rising Force are in top form. This is a show not to be missed!
