CALLING all American Idol fans: Fantasia Barrino, Diana DeGarmo and six fellow contestants will be in Singapore for a one-night concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 5, 2004.
The Singapore leg of the American Idol 3's Summer Tour was announced at a press conference held at the American Embassy on Friday.
Besides the top two winners, the concert, sponsored by Citibank and organised by LAMC Productions, also features Jasmine Trias, Jennifer Hudson, George Huff, John Peter Lewis, La Toya London and Camille Velasco.
John Stevens and Amy Adams, who have been part of the line-up for the American tour, will not be here due to 'prior commitments made', said an LAMC spokesman.
The Singapore gig was won after an 'intense bidding war' among some other Asian countries.
The Singapore stop is the final and only show outside the United States for the 50-city tour, which began in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 14.
During their four-day stay here, the Idols will do their part for the concert's beneficiary, the National Kidney Foundation Children's Medical Fund.
They will visit terminally ill children at the National University Hospital and invite them to the gig.
