The Rising Star initiative aims to be a trailblazer to follow for leads on the best & most current hot artistes to come to Singapore and the surrounding region. It will allow the local audience a chance to experience these artistes in a cosy, intimate setting that is unlikely to repeat as their fan-base grows. These artistes may not have a massive following on the outset, but they are already set on the path towards stardom with support from global industry leaders and beyond – hence the title, ‘Rising Star’.

This initiative will also feature a local or regional opening act in each show. The chosen acts will be fairly well-established artistes who are poised to break into a larger market. The Rising Star initiative will allow these acts to be aligned with these promising international acts, and reach out to the massive audiences outside of Singapore and the region.

Nothing But Thieves have been making waves as the support act for rock titans Muse on the UK leg of their 2016 ‘Drones’ World Tour, and have sold out their own headline shows across the UK and Europe along with Los Angeles and New York City on their recent US tour. And LAMC Productions is proud to have them as our second act for our Rising Star Series!

LAMC Productions is proud to announce up and coming British Alternative Rock band, Nothing But Thieves! They are the 2nd show in our RISING STAR Series, and will be performing live in Singapore at *SCAPE Ground Theatre on Thursday, 18 August, 2016. Early Bird tickets are priced at $88 and can be bought below.

The quintet recently swiped an airplay chart No. 1 with their first U.S. charting single ‘Trip Switch’ on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart – the same song with which they made their U.S. TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live in February 2016. The single now has over three million views on YouTube after its release less than a year ago.

Drawing inspiration from the bombast of Muse and the unpredictability of Arcade Fire, the songs on their self-titled debut album Nothing But Thieves re-imagine the majesty of rock and roll, simultaneously kicking and comforting the listener. The band performed at both Reading & Leeds festivals this summer, following a recent support slot with Muse and tours with Twin Atlantic, AWOL Nation and Darlia. In response to their set at Lowlands Festival late summer, All Things Loud declared:

“Nothing But Thieves will undoubtedly be selling out stadiums in five years’ time”

“The Southend five-piece runs up debts to Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Muse, early Coldplay and blue-eyed soul”, notes the London Sunday Times. The publication agrees, “The audacity with which they set about these templates is genuinely thrilling, as if they’re on their third or fourth album, not prepping for their first. Stadiums surely beckon.” The tracks have seen multiple radio playlist addictions across Radio X, Kerrang! And Radio 1 in the UK and now the world is starting to take notice, as the upcoming debut has also seen substantial airplay on Triple J Radio in Australia as well as KCRW in the U.S. They also landed on 2014’s ‘Best New Artist’ lists of iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, MTV and Radio X, to name a few.
