LAMC Productions is proud to announce that the Guitar virtuoso, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Richie Kotzen, has brought his ‘Salting Earth World Tour’ to Singapore for the very first time on August 21, 2017 at Esplanade Annexe Studio!
Fans are in for a special treat as Kotzen will be performing songs from his impressive 28-year career at his electrifying show in Singapore. The tour comes in support of Kotzen's recently-released 22nd solo album, Salting Earth, on which he plays every instrument.
“Salting Earth is another solid collection of songs to add to the Kotzen catalog. Few artists continue to put out new music as often as Kotzen and not only is Kotzen continuing to put out new music, but he keeps doing it at a high level. Salting Earth has a little something for everyone”. - Blue Rocks Review
Richie Kotzen has never been an artist known for playing by the rules and that meant putting on the brakes after a nonstop flurry of band-related activity in order to refuel the creative process for the ten heartfelt and hard-hitting songs that comprise his vibrant solo album, Salting Earth. The proof is on display deep within the grooves of Salting Earth, which veers from the balls-out, heads-up declaration of the opening track “End of Earth” to the burning-sky harmonic thrust of “Thunder” to the Prince-like funk-jazz swing of “This Is Life” to the acoustified take-me-as-I-am self-reflection of the album’s final song, “Grammy.” A one man production machine, Kotzen writes all the music and plays every instrument on his solo work. Guitar, bass, drums, piano and more.
Kotzen’s previous solo release, 2015’s diverse, far-reaching Cannibals, was also a well- received hit among his core fan base.
Richie Kotzen burst onto the heavy metal scene as a teenager with his lightning-fast guitar technique. After recording three albums including his 1989 self-titled debut, the following year's Fever Dream, and 1991's Electric Joy, he was recruited by Poison to replace original guitarist CC Deville.
Kotzen recorded Poison's 1993's Native Tongue album but returned to his solo career soon after and at the end of the '90s, Kotzen had joined multi platinum selling rock outfit Mr. Big. Mr Big broke up in 2002 and Kotzen once again returned to his solo career, beginning his most creative streak releasing 9 solo albums from 2001 till 2015!
“When Richie Kotzen picks up his guitar, it literally speaks through him.” - Music Radar
In 2013 Richie joined forces with two giants of the music industry. Billy Sheehan (David Lee Roth, Mr Big, Steve Vai) and Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Flying Colors) to form The Winery Dogs. The power trio released two highly successful albums, The Winery Dogs in 2013, and Hot Streak in 2015.
While having several lifetimes of albums to his name, bringing music to the people is Richie’s main mission.
Kotzen is clearly eager to hit the road. “I know this is going to be a long album cycle of touring, and already we are talking about going to places I’ve never been before,” Kotzen notes. “With the new record being done and knowing dates are being booked around the world, I can feel my creative energy surging once again.”
Said energy surge has been seeded quite liberally all throughout Salting Earth, an album that shows Kotzen as the pillar for how to harness newfound creativity in the best light imaginable. Come and dig his Earth!
