Statement from Snow Patrol:
"We are so sorry to announce that we have to cancel our shows in Jakarta and Singapore this weekend. I have been told by the doctor that I cannot sing at this time due to a throat and chest infection. We were so excited to play Jakarta for the first time and get back to Singapore. Unfortunately we will have to wait until the next time now. I hate cancelling shows and wouldn’t do it unless there was no other option. i need to rest for a few weeks. We will come back to both places when we have a new album I promise. Love to you all. So sorry for not being able to play."

The band has already embarked on their tour in support of their latest album ‘Wildness’, and has been hitting up all the major American cities throughout the trek. With the influence the band has left in its supporters after their hiatus, from the all-time favourite and popular song 'Chasing Cars' to numerous chart-topping records, Snow Patrol now comes back to break some new ground with an acoustic performance in the Lion City!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
During the course of their career, Snow Patrol has won seven Meteor Ireland Music Awards and has been nominated for six Brit Awards. Since the release of Final Straw, the band has sold over 16 million records worldwide. Prior to the album ‘Wildness’, the band has released Fallen Empires (2010–2012), which became the band's highest debut on the Billboard chart and the second album to reach the top-ten. The band, then, has done ‘Fallen Empires’ world tour and has made a successful first show in Singapore on 06 August 2012 at the Fort Canning Park. The band then released a compilation entitled Greatest Hits on May 2013.
On January 2018, the band's social media announced the upcoming release of their seventh studio album, ‘Wildness’, which dropped on 25 May 2018 – topping charts in multiple countries, including Ireland. They embarked on their ‘Wildness’ Tour to promote the album, and opened for Ed Sheeran during the fall 2018 leg of his ‘÷’ Tour in North America, in addition to their own headlining shows. The record peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums chart and No. 49 on the Billboard 200 chart. They likewise performed two Wildness tracks on “The Late Late Show with James Corden"; and during an appearance last year, Corden and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody did an amazing rehearsal duet of “What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get?”
Snow Patrol’s ‘Wildness’ showcases the band’s compelling songwriting abilities as well as thematic elements of perception, connection and the searching of meaning. In an interview with New Musical Express (NME) in 2012, Gary Lightbody said that he had to overcome a bout of writer's block and that the songs written for the new album were scrapped before being replaced by new ‘mind-boggling’ material. During the hiatus, Gary Lightbody wrote songs with Ed Sheeran and One Direction. He co-wrote and sang a duet with Taylor Swift for her “Red” album; while guitarist Johnny McDaid co-wrote Sheeran’s smashes “Shape of You” and “Photograph,” as well as Pink’s hit “What About Us.”
Last year, Lightbody said in a Newsday feature that ‘Wildness’ was about “our communion with nature and each other” and “the loss of it.” One of their tracks, “Don’t Give In,” currently climbing the Triple A charts, leans more toward Sheeran-esque acoustic simplicity.
‘...A fantastically ambitious collection of songs, one more direct and intimate than many previous Snow Patrol offerings... it’s so intimate and needy that you’ll want to wrap it in a blanket and put it beside a fire. Wildness signals a triumphant Snow Patrol return.’ – Gulf News Music
